Bank’s head office fit-out creates a healthier, more engaging space for 500 new staff
Provident Financial, the country’s leading secondary lender, reached out to Richardsons to take over from a previous fit-out supplier and complete the installation of their Bradford head office. Working out of hours to avoid disruption, the Richardsons team redesigned and installed the new office space (as well as breakout rooms and tea areas), increasing capacity and futureproofing the working environment.
Since the success of the initial project, Provident Financial called on Richardsons again to support its associated company, Vanquis Bank, to re-energise its own headquarters in Kent. The office fit-out was a key part of rolling out 500 positions and maximising staff engagement and retention.
The brief
The brief for Vanquis Bank’s office refurbishment included a reception fit-out, meeting and breakout rooms as well as a canteen area.
The bank operated a mult-shift system, meaning that multiple members of staff used the same workstation after one another. A key part of the brief, therefore, was to create workspaces that supported healthy working habits (including good posture) and that were flexible and durable to account for sustained use by different people.
Our approach
When sourcing durable, ergonomic chairs suitable for all members of multi-shift staff, we completed multiple trials to identify the best option. We also offered a series of workshops to support staff to find the correct seating position for them to maximise the company’s return on investment.
