Boosting efficiency and engagement at Sulzer’s office facilities in Birmingham
Sulzer is a global leader in fluid engineering and chemical processing applications, with over 150 world-class manufacturing facilities worldwide.
During the UK COVID-19 lockdown, Sulzer relocated to a new purpose-built head office at Birmingham Business Park. They enlisted the support of the Richardsons team to plan, design and fit Sulzer’s office facilities to operate at their best for the organisation and its staff.
The brief
Sulzer was aiming for greater efficiency with its new office layout. Careful planning was required to create an intuitive flow of business with departments laid out to reduce barriers to collaboration.
The brief also included a focus on employee engagement and company culture. The new design and office furniture needed to take Sulzer’s staff needs into consideration and create a positive working environment.
Our approach
We liaised closely with staff at Sulzer to understand internal processes and departmental relations, as well as what staff needed to improve their experience of working in the office.
We shared iterations of plans and designs and acted on feedback at each stage to make the final result perfect for Sulzer’s needs.
