Leeds City College
Fitting out Leeds City College facilities for top student experiences
Richardsons has worked with Leeds City College for several years to modernise spaces, change room usage, incorporate technology and flexibility and enhance the student experience.
This has involved fitting out several college buildings across Leeds with tight budgets and deadlines, as well as day-to-day support.
The brief
Each building and project we work on with Leeds City College aims to create a better student experience, with modern college facilities and further education to allow students to study and socialise in ways that suit them.
Our approach
Each area that we design and install is carefully planned alongside the Leeds City College team. When it comes to college furniture, we cherry-pick from our wide range of suppliers to find the best materials and designs at the best prices to suit the college’s educational furniture needs.
The result
The result is multiple college campuses and further education facilities in Leeds with flexible college classroom furniture, study spaces and social areas.

Printworks
A 19th-century printworks building transformed into a 21st-century study space, including professional kitchens, a make-up studio and digital labs.

Quarry Hill
A prestigious new building housing specialist facilities for the Schools of Creative Arts and Social Science.

Park Lane
A refurbished space with refreshed corridor spaces, new technology classrooms and flexible learning environments.

Flexible classroom furniture
Flexible spaces feature throughout the college facilities to give students and staff room to adapt their space to their needs.
The impact
Leeds City College’s facilities were praised in the provider’s most recent Ofsted inspection report, which said, “Learners and apprentices benefit from studying in environments that are well-resourced and up to date.”
Continuously updated and modernised environments and specialist facilities are a key selling point of Leeds City College. Richardsons continues to work with senior leaders at the college to create effective learning environments.
