Improving employee wellbeing with bespoke acoustic solutions
Indivior is an international pharmaceutical company with offices across the UK and the globe.
Richardsons’ relationship with Indivior began in 2016 when we completed the healthcare company’s office fitout for its head offices in Hull. Indivior then began establishing ‘outreach posts’, including a rented building in central London that it acquired after taking over another company.
The London office had significant issues with noise due to the amount of glass, metal and concrete in the space. Staff were contending with noise from the offices above theirs, from the busy street outside, and from a lift shaft adjacent to the office.
Indivior approached Richardsons to support with redesigning the space to reduce disruption and improve employee wellbeing.
The brief
Our brief was to redesign Indivior’s London office space to meet employees’ needs and support a smooth transition. Our primary aims were to reduce the excessive noise in the space and to provide areas for staff to relax and socialise.
While budget constraints were not an issue for this project, we did have to be mindful that the space was being leased and so modifications had to be either renter-friendly or subject to approval by the building’s owners.
Our approach
Our team spent a significant amount of time in the space to fully understand the current challenges and to speak to staff about what they needed from their workspace. From there, we provided tailored solutions for the biotech’s office design, incorporating style and function to create a more enjoyable and productive workspace for Indivior’s London team.

Acoustic solutions

The impact
Indivior’s staff have been thrilled with their refurbished workspace. The pharma company’s interiors now allow better focus and productivity whilst supporting staff’s wellbeing through reduced noise, increased comfort, and more fit-for-purpose work and social areas throughout the space.
Since the completion of Indivior’s London office, our relationship has continued, including a significant expansion of the company’s offices in Slough.
